Hebrews 10:1-10 may seem like an unusual passage for Christmas, but it beautifully illustrates the transition from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant through Jesus Christ's ultimate sacrifice. The Old Covenant, established through sacrifices and the Law, served as a reminder of sins but couldn't fully cleanse the conscience of worshippers. The sacrifices of bulls and goats were insufficient to take away sins permanently. The New Covenant, established through Jesus Christ, is far superior. Jesus' sacrifice is unique because it is both human and divine, capable of cleansing us fully. His death and resurrection signify the end of the Old Covenant and the establishment of the New. Through Jesus' sacrifice, we are sanctified and set apart for God's use.
