Preacher: Rick Phillips

Sunday Morning

Date: 22nd June 2025

Passage: Jeremiah 1:4-10

-------------------

The story of Jeremiah's calling reveals profound truths about God's sovereignty and our purpose. Before Jeremiah was formed in the womb, God knew him personally, consecrated him, and appointed him as a prophet. This wasn't based on Jeremiah's qualifications but on God's eternal plan. This truth extends to all believers - God has known us from eternity past, and His love was set on us before we even existed. To be consecrated means to be set apart for God's purposes, living not on our own terms but on His. Every Christian has been called to a consecrated life with specific work prepared for them. The path to discovering this purpose often begins simply by serving faithfully, allowing God to reveal our calling through His providence. When we feel inadequate like Jeremiah did, God reminds us that what matters is not our ability but His faithfulness and power. He equips us with His presence and His words, promising to be with us through difficulties. Our mission includes both confronting sin and proclaiming grace - speaking God's truth with courage and love in a generation that desperately needs Jesus.
